Report

MAT, Nagoya Studio Project supports artists’ creation and exhibitions.
This time, Daisuke Yamashiro who has been known for his unique approach towards video art worked on his new piece TALKING LIGHTS which was going to be exhibited in “Roppongi Crossing 2016: My Body, Your Voice” at Mori Art Museum in March. In order to experiment this theatrical installation with objects placed on the stage operate in reaction to sound and lighting, Yamashiro reproduced a full-sized exhibition space to work on planning the details. Technical members and a programmer also joined him in Nagoya to test automatic equipment for operation. The 10 day-studio project enabled the artist to brush up his ideas in art-making process prior to the museum exhibition.
