“For instance, wake up earlier than usual and eat breakfast at the port town.”

“The world around you may seem different when you get up an hour earlier.”
The 6 day-exclusive breakfast event as a satellite program of the exhibition “Between Botany and Art” at Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art, was hosted by the artist duo L PACK who offers “New scenery with the coffee”, with guests of Tetsuro Kano, Fumi Imamura, and Eiji Watanabe who participated in the exhibition.
At Minatomachi POTLUCK BUILDING, Kano’s work made of combined glass items, colorful ready-made goods and fruits was placed on a large dining table, which also was formed of several tables in the space. Imamura’s plant drawings put up on the walls and curtains in a unused cafe “cabin” matched the space as if in response to the atmosphere of its good old days. Watanabe showed some playful approaches to present breakfast on the grass by exhibiting objects cut out of illustrated botanical books and using pieces of artificial turf as a food tray in both venues.
Since dining out for breakfast is quite common in Tokai region, there have been a lot of people visited the events not only from the local town but also from distant places. Artists’ attempts to restore closed store buildings temporarily made us realize abundant resources that we tend to forget.
